christmas outing & orientation 2009

busy busy busy with orientation, went back to school for dry run on 29 and 30. and we had much more fun on the second day, because everyone participated and bonded more with each other. with seniors like joy and joy helping us, it moved on smoothly :)

and i hope that orientation will go on really smoothly and that we won't be too pressured.

but christmas outing to bg really worked out and i had much fun. captain's ball after frisbee, game after game, and i got really burnt. i went suntanning with alicia, joh and sammie, just sitting in the middle of the field watching people playing games and slacking. :) my clique and i went climbing up the tembusu tree and sarah had much difficulty making her way down again. lol.. :D

and claire and i swapped our converse shoes and i'll update our picture when i have more time.
pretty purple shoes..

dear God, please bless orientation 2009.

christmas:)

i enjoyed christmas this year, really much. i got to attend both services for christmas 2008, candlelit on 24 and the actual one on 25. and candlelit service was really nice cos we could hold our lighted candles and sing carols through the service, not the usual type of service on sundays.

i got much more christmas messages this year and in the morning it was one after another, and they would just keep coming in. merry christmas to everyone!

sarah and i were busy preparing our christmas presents last week and she said that she would give them out this sun but i gave most of mine on the 21. and i'm super excited about the christmas outing the leaders are holding for us this sunday, and most people are turning up! yayss. :)

and pastor gave the sermon yesterday about the darkness, desert and storm in our lives and Jesus is the answer to all our problems. Thank you God! :)

christmas isn't christmas

christmas outing! :)

i went to church and small group yesterday though i was not really feeling well. so i didn't really absorb much during sermon. :(

we learnt about meekness during small group and it was quite a good lesson and i learnt that gentleness means humble, submissive. and i gave out most of my christmas presents except for those who didn't come yesterday and those i could not have time to give to. and alicia is back, and claire will come this coming sun. yays :)

we're having christmas outing this sunday, 11 to 7 at bg! :) and i'm finally able to make it for our small group gathering cos i'm always missing camps and outings because i'm on hols. and what we're having is probably sports and games! there's christmas service on christmas day i'll try to give my presents out to those i didn't see yesterday.

so from me, a very merry christmas 2008 to all my friends and family! :) God bless!!

SiCk.. :(

miserable...i fell ill since yesterday, and i have terrible sore throat and blocked nose. so i've decided to skip this evening's christmas party lest i become worse and would be unable to attend church tomorrow. :(

and i've been very lethargic the whole day but i went swimming this morning cos i know that if i don't get back to swimming i would never step into a pool again. so i made myself forget all the excuses about being tired and swam for one and a half hours. and here i am blogging and i hope that i will not feel too miserable the next day.

we planned a whole lot of fancy drill steps on thurs and i went back for council duty for registration yesterday and what i saw was a whole lot of fairsians and minority of people from other schools. :)

and so we're near to completing our fancy drill planning and pracs start again next year between week 3 and 4. i hope that we win the comp this year again, like we won best company in 2007's drill comp. :)

Dear God, please make me well again

back from ipoh

i'm back from ipoh and finally back to drill pracs again! :) and we are planning the final bit of fancy drill now, using the song Not Ashamed by planetshakers.

and God has been good to us, not letting us quarrel over what to put in and what not to. and so we have polished up our static drill and now most of our time we use it for fancy. and today we practised a bit of drill with our senior girls and i have to say there is much much room for improvement! so we're trying our best to correct them though sometimes we get ignored :(

our fancy drill is really coming up nicely and it fits into the song, with many steps that we really enjoy planning and trying out. i'm looking forward to trying the whole thing out when the rest of the contingent come back for the last prac :)
and back to church again, with alicia coming back on the 17th. :) and christmas round the corner, what sarah is looking forward to a lot.

and so i'm really happy with life now and i have registration duty for sec 1s 2009, and orientation trial run soon, with seniors coming back to supervise! :)

thank God for people in drill comp! it really bonds you with the rest of the company! :)

i've got to let it show
let the whole world know
what You've done in me
cos i'm not ashamed
i'll be a light
in the darkest night
everyone will see
that i'm not ashamed

IpOh :)

i'm back in ipoh visiting relatives and i've been trying to complete my holiday homework everyday so i wouldn't start to slack. :) i've just found time to write here in my blog. holiday for now, but i'll be having 3 extra pracs for drill 2 weeks later-doing fancy drill :)

and next week i'll be heading to penang and staying one night there. yay!

so i've gone to church here in ipoh and there's actually much difference between tacklebox and the service here. i mean.. they usually sing hymns here from the hymnal and we have all our songs on powerpoints and most of the songs we have are fast and quick. but not that i'm grumbling, it's good to have hymns once in a while!! :)

and we'll be staying here for quite sometime, around 2 weeks and will be going back to singapore on a sunday and back to mass dance and drill the next morn. and i'll be catching up on my reading the next few days and on TYS...:)

that's about it for now..will blog again when i come back from penang.

toodles :)

sammie's back!!!

sammie came back today to church!! but then she actually came back from aus last sun, and i talked to her on the phone at night. have not seen her for a super long time..and van and sarah was just as elated as me! :)

she brought us a lot of starburst and we had a great time today at sg..listening and choosing our fruits at the same time. we're learning about Fruit of the Spirit now anyway, nice timing!

till date, we had a lot of drill comp. pracs and I brushed up on tanda and slow march, and i've improved quite a lot, by God's grace! :) yays..
we also practised on the other types of drill and we are now in the midst of planning fancy drill and the steps and whether or not we should include a song.

so my hols are not too bad or slacky nowadays and in fact is quite fun-filled. i just received news that i got into music elective next year! thank you God!

gb annual year end camp :)

i came back from camp today! and it was a whole lot of fun and we had multiple drill pracs, not forgetting NIGHT DRILL!!! our theme was: Fruit of The Spirit

our camp was 3D2N and i was in group 3 led by wenmin and I was the assistant! hahas.. :) and we had 3 super crazy but super cute sec ones: constance, cassandra and annabel :) and it was really fun surviving with them because they would make you laugh like crazy the whole day and what I lost by surviving with 3 fun kids were sleep and appetite. haha. the jokes they told were really hilarious and annabel said that she would tell me ghost stories at night and what she did was to end up sleeping the fastest. -.-

but amazing race singapore or AR SG was really fun and wenmin led us to complete stations at vivo in Mache and IMM Garden Plaza, and we spent 15mins slacking at macs in IMM. but we made it back in time and we were all satisfied :)

drill pracs were ok, and we brushed up on tanda or some people would say Thunder and they would say " if there's thunder why no lightning huh??".. hahas..jkjk... :)
and we learnt slow march and joy yeo commented saying that the contingent would sway from side to side when we went " 2,3 left and 2,3 right" but then slow march and tanda was fun and we had drill theory test where i got full marks! the only test where i can get full marks.. and at 1.25am on the first day, we were woken up to have drill test, which the sec 3s were told about but they didn't tell us.. :(
and when we were doing tanda i was yawning like crazy.

and on the whole i love group 3 or cranberry. rmb " the fruit to remember and never ever forget" and " i don't dance" ?? i love our cheers and also our very own GLAMOROUS song! :) i love cranberry, every single one of you all: wenmin, constance, cass and annabel.. we laugh like mad people but we won the most SELF- CONTROL group!

that's about it, and i really love everyone that put this camp possible!!!

toodles:)

happily ever after :)

so mum and I went to watch HSM3: senior year today and it was a much better show than HSM1 or 2! mum said that she enjoyed it overall! i give 5 stars, and the ending was really sweet!!!

it was preparation for prom and graduation night and then the students got their postings to different unis. then gabriella wanted stanford and troy got selected for julliard, some uni for arts. then because gabriella got an honours award, she attended school at stanford earlier than other people and she could not make it back for prom and graduation in time. so what troy did was that he visited her in stanford and they came back in time for the big show and troy made a BIG DECISION to go to a uni 32.7 miles away from gabriella's. so they lived happily ever after, and the finale was nice when they did a jump shot, just like the one on the official poster! hahas.. :)

i found the choreography good cos the dance moves were complicated but it looked good together. "we're all in this together" and " all for one" was what i learnt from watching all 3 episodes of HSM. and i learnt how important friendship is. :)

gabriella and troy; taylor and chad... HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!! :)

peace...:)

HSM 3 senior year...
haha... :)

so we had leadership talk yesterday and it was informative on the whole and i learnt a lot of stuff about leading and for the sec one orientation next year. i got into social and welfare and we have to plan the installation song, catering, and mass dance!

and drill comp. practices started on saturday and i found out that we had a lot to learn. we learnt jadikan dua and tiga barisan on saturday. but though it was tough to master, it was a whole lot of bloopers, especially when we did not know where to stand and position ourselves and we kept stepping on other people.
and on sunday, the sermon and worship was good, and we learnt about peace during small group. we learnt about three types of peace: peace on earth, peace with yourselves, and peace with God. :) peace with sarah...haha!
because i know, i know He holds the future
and life is worth the living just because
He lives

exams end!!! :)

the exams are over and i'm super happy! i can finally relax after slogging for around 2 weeks and i can take time to slack and enjoy. :) but then i'll be back in school on the 16th for drill prac and choosing for drill comp.

exams were ok this time, but it was a bit tough for maths, and everyday i'm grown used to the habit to reach school before 6.45 and not dilly dally to get out of the house! :)

and i was just telling alicia that i was slacking all day and she was like " aiyo, dun rub it in!" hehe.. i'm not sure what i'll do during the time before my hols start, but i think i'll get down to revise in by TYS maths books. that'll make me less slacky...

i'm been keeping in contact with sammie on email and she's coming back on 15 nov! :) so i hope that i'll be able to see her on the sunday she comes back! and sermon was good today, we had Rev. Dr. Philip Huan, and he was talking about the lack of a GREAT heart. and he asked " how is your heart today?" and that we should not mix up God's plans with our OWN plans. that's one new thing i learnt through today's sermon. and worship was good too, we had our all time faves played and our theme song for the month of oct is You'll Come, a beautiful song!
you'll come
let your glory fall
as you respond to us
spirit reign
flood into our thirsty hearts again
you'll come
you'll come

september hols(:

the sep hols are here. and i'm having quite a lot of homework this hols to keep me occupied: hcl, maths, science. but of course i did complete them fast to start on my revision, cos my oral just fast-forwarded this year, and their on 11 sep. arghh!!! :P

so i got them done by tuesday and i was kind of happy that i got something out of the way. yups, so i started on maths revision already. yays! (:

the fishermens' having our level games this sunday and i really hope that it will not flop, so yeah, i'm really hoping for a good result for the planning of the level games.

i really miss you sammie! <3>

things are going along fine now, and i'm free from projects, and teachers' day was just superb. council's days of plannings payed off, and i felt satisfied with myself and my teammates. the video was really hilarious, with mad chan as miss good..haha:)

and tomorrow council is heading for a day at pulau ubin, and i stocked up on water because i heard that the water at ubin is strictly unpotable. oh my goodness. i brought 2 litres of water though the packing list only asked for us to bring 1.5litres of water. lol! and i hope that will enjoy myself tomorrow and not too tired at the end.

and on saturday i will be going to lorraine's birthday party, and i will bring esther and my combined present for her. hope that she will love it, i personally love it though. hope that she will love PINK as much as i do!!!

i love the fishermen...
I will live to love You
I will live to bring You praise
I will live a child in awe of You...

most *memorable* week

I believe You’re my Healer
I believe You are all I need
I believe You’re my Portion
I believe You’re more than enough for me
Jesus You’re all I need
healer - mike guglielmucci

Oh Lord, thank you for sustaining me through the week even though the number of tests in school was piling over me and practically drowning me. Thank you for providing me focus and strength for everything I did, helping me make the right decisions. Thank you Lord!!!

This week was definitely " memorable ". I had the most number of tests this week - one chinese, one maths, one science, and one literature. Many of us were grumbling, and almost everyday we could see people holding textbooks and memorising their heads off, and their brains blowing. I tried to keep awake every night to study, and most of the time dad and mum had to wait for me before going to sleep. Thank you!!

Well, on sunday i really freaked out, and i really felt that the work i had to do were killing me. but, i told myself that if i struggled through this week, Os would be BIG trouble for me. So, i pushed myself to the limit.

i called alica yik.
me : i'm really going to die you know!
alicia : why? because of your tests?
me : yeah, its really killing me
alicia : er...one way is that you can spread out your work over a few hours, and just be focused on what you need to complete each hour. then it will make you study and learn better.
me : well, that's what you do during your tests in school?
alicia : yeah. i mean it depends how you spread your work out you know? me : thank you!!! (:

again, THANK YOU!!! (:

so, i survived through this week and tues was my birthday! i had a really nice banana choc from secret recipe and two birthday meals- dinner at swensen's and lunch at cartel.
well, now i have a really good break, because i don't have any tests next week and no homework for the weekend!
THANK YOU GOD!

You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won't grow weary
You're the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles

drill test!

thank you Lord,
for seeing me through today's
drill test,
providing me with a clear mind for drill
and a strong passion for it...
thank you Lord!

i had my drill test today, with the rest of 3rd company's stage 1 and 2 girls! we had joy yeo to pray for us yesterday, and i prayed last night that i would not time wrongly and that God would give me a clear mind to drill today, and that i would not be worried about anything around me.

so i woke up quite early today, around 5.30 in the early morning, and i went to school to report. i had a spray of hairspray by joy and it made my hair stay for the rest of the day. SO COLD!!! i was dodging whenever she tried to spray me with it. and joy yeo was standing at one side, looking at me weirdly... (:

and after a final farewell and send-off by joy yeo and delci, we headed straight for the test.

it was kind of scary, and the tension was high as we did not know when the DI would give the next command. so we all stood at attention, and i tried not to fidget or look around. after an hour, we finished our test and we got a big round of applause from joy, mrs lim and ms ong. joy told us how much we improved from the practices we had and we all felt tired, but happy.

so we completed the dirll stage 1 after maybe 3 months of training, drilling, sweating and not forgetting...grumbling.

thank you seniors for all the hard work and time you have put aside for us. thank you delci for teaching us belok though our belok was often horrible and untidy. thank you joy yeo for teaching us the discipline that drill required. thank you joy sim for always encouraging me on... and of course, thank you Lord for always blessing me throughout this experience. I HEART YOU!!!

no one ever will compare
to you, Jesus
